A loud explosion has shaken part of New York City, witnesses say, prompting fire trucks and ambulances to converge on the scene.

The New York Fire Department said the blast was reported shortly around 21:00 (01:00) on West 23rd Street in the Chelsea district of Manhattan.

At least 10 people were taken away from the scene in ambulances, Reuters news agency reported.

Police and fire officials said they were investigating.

The blast was described by nearby residents as “incredibly loud” and “deafening”.

Later on up to 30 people reported injured one in serious conditions .

About an hour later another explosive device was reported few blocks away from 23 dogs where on the seen and police blocked it off  and the police bomb unit took something from the seen but it has not been confirmed .
